Back Together Again

For many of us, 2020 has been like no other in recent memory. Public health restrictions caused by the crippling coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic have led to cancelled sporting events, concerts and other leisure activities we were accustomed to enjoying. Many vacations, graduations, and large celebrations have been put on hold, or eliminated. Despite the adjustments caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, there's still plenty of fun to be had, if done responsibly. In fact, seeking out fun activities may be even more important now. By doing something enjoyable, it can distract you from daily challenges and assist you cope with life's complications.

On Wednesday October 14,2020, Mercer Council hosted its first “Social Distancing Staff Meeting”, or as I like to call it “Back Together Again”. We as a family, enjoyed conversation, lunch, and laughter while maintaining a 6-foot distance. We limited prolonged close contact, wore masks, and practiced good hand hygiene. The time together was well spent, but as always, all good things must come to a close. Looking forward to when we can get “Back Together Again” is what makes Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction stand #strongertogether even during a pandemic that requires us to be distanced apart.
