Mercer County OORP Annual Report and Program Summary
Mercer Council has been privileged to service the DMHAS-funded Opioid Overdose Recovery Program (OORP) contract in Mercer County since 2017. Through year end 2020, our team of Certified Peer Recovery Specialists and Patient Navigators have serviced nearly 1000 total clients struggling with Opioid-related challenges, providing referrals and linkages to all levels of Substance Use Disorder Care, Recovery Support Services and other ancillary services and systems. As we all know, 2020 has posed incredible challenges for everyone, and specifically those suffering from Opioid-related SUD.
OORP is proud to report the following accomplishments during this difficult year:
*Increased referral success rates for Withdrawal Management/Treatment by 25%, from 60% to 85%, through innovative outreach efforts, and extended follow-up with prior OORP clients.
*Drastically reduced Refusal and “No Services” rates to roughly 5-6% (from 15-25% historically).
*Had a cumulative reach of over 2500 across social media posts and blogs (2200+), and "All Recovery" online meeting attendance (330+).
*Increased non-hospital referrals from 10% to over 22% as a result of increased outreach to non-hospital settings and delivery of Cold Weather/COVID “Client Care” packages to local facilities and sober living organizations.
*Mercer County OORP Program dramatically increased our program quality and creative outreach strategies to ensure that all who wanted Opioid assistance were able to continue to receive the highest quality of attention and care.
